Rosso's New Wine List

We all know and love Rosso Pizzeria for its salumi, fritto misto, housemade burrata, caprese salad and of course, pizze with housemade tomato sauce. But since opening, the wine list had remained the same and well, in Wine Country, its always nice to see a little movement, some additions here, a surprise there. That's why stumbling upon Rosso's brand new wine list, released just this week, was all good.

Newton's eco-chic wine bar

Newton Vineyard Estate in St. Helena, an insanely beautiful property, is unveiling, just in time for Earth Day, what it describes as an "eco-chic" tasting bar, designed by Claire Danthois using all reclaimed materials, including 300-year-old oak acquired from a wine merchant in England.

The folks at PlayMobil (according to a very funny, spoof web site called the Dregs Report, launched today), have finally unveiled the perfect accessory for the wine-loving kid: a PlayMobil wine bar, featuring some of your favorite wine cogniscenti figures including Robert Parker, Jancis Robinson and Andrea Immer.

Great pinot, good price

Fair enough. Pinot prices over the last few years have gotten out of hand. But truth is, most winemakers have faced pretty steep rising costs for the grapes, the barrels and all the rest. So while the prices might have seemed high, they were also actually quite fair. Not to mention reflective of what the market might bear.
